As we settle into a new school year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the key elements of Montessori education and explore how our peaceful, nurturing environment supports your scholar’s holistic development.

At Little Scholars Academy of California (LSAOC), our mission is to provide a balanced, developmentally appropriate foundation grounded in the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori. Serving children from six weeks to six years of age across our Infant, Toddler, and Primary programs, we strive to foster each child's natural curiosity into a lifelong love of learning and a passion for excellence.

The LSAOC Learning Journey

  • Infant & Toddler Community (6 weeks – 30 months): Building foundational trust, motor skills, self-sufficiency, and emotional security.

  • Primary / Children's House (2.5 – 6 years): Cultivating deep concentration, academic foundations, self-discipline, and social cohesion.

  • Lifelong Scholars: Developing independent thinking, self-assurance, respect, and a love for learning.

Core Pillars of Our Academic Programs

1. The Prepared Environment

Dr. Maria Montessori recognized that a child's physical and social environment directly shapes their development.

  • Tailored Spaces: Our classrooms feature child-sized, accessible materials that invite hands-on exploration.

  • A Supportive Community: The environment includes loving, highly trained guides and a collaborative peer group.

2. Individualized Instruction & Keen Observation

Learning begins with the individual scholar.

  • Observational Guidance: Our Montessori guides continuously observe each child's unique interests and skill levels.

  • Adapted Pace: Lessons are personalized, ensuring children are challenged while feeling fully supported at every stage of growth.

3. Multi-Age Groupings & Social Responsibility

Our multi-age classrooms mirror real-world communities and provide rich social opportunities:

  • Mentorship: Older children build leadership skills and reinforce their own understanding by assisting younger peers.

  • Natural Socialization: Younger children observe and learn from older role models, developing empathy, cooperation, and social responsibility.

Program Highlights at LSAOC

Our educational continuum begins in the Infant & Toddler Community (serving children ages six weeks to 30 months), where we focus on sensory exploration, motor development, grace and courtesy, and nurturing emotional trust. Scholars then transition into the Primary / Children's House program (ages 2.5 to six years) to cultivate deep concentration, independence, and an experiential understanding of mathematics, language, and cultural subjects. Ultimately, this continuum guides each child toward becoming a confident, self-disciplined, lifelong learner with a profound respect for themselves and others.

Enriched Learning Beyond the Classroom

In addition to our core Montessori curriculum, LSAOC offers specialized enrichment programs designed to support physical coordination, self-expression, and confidence:

  • Dance: Encouraging rhythm, creative movement, and body awareness.

  • Karate: Building discipline, focus, respect, and physical balance.

  • Sports: Fostering teamwork, motor development, and healthy habits.

Partnering with LSAOC Families

We believe a strong connection between home and school is essential for every scholar's success. As we move through this academic year, we celebrate each child's individuality and look forward to partnering with you.
